Building a Championship program is hard. It took Coach Wooden 16 seasons before his first national championship. Coach Close did it in 15 years!
I do love that she definitely seems to be doing it the right way too. Compare/Contrast Coach Close on Friday - ~"Sorry about the Rugby match, but we prepared for how intense the defensive struggle was going to be" vs. Geno's cursing on national TV and blaming refs for a jersey his own player tore up on her own.
It was undoubtedly easier for Coach Close, given she was winning, but the Texas Coach also handled it far better than Geno's absolute meltdown.
