I really need to take a page out of your book. I'm 54 and play in 2 basketball leagues (one 40+ yo and other 45+). I drink occasionally and have a drink probably twice a month. I like lagers, blondes (no pun intended :p ) and whiskey.
Unfortunately, I have a desk job which is considered the new smoking. So I try to exercise at least 4-5x a week (going to gym, strength training, basketball workouts on top of pickup and league games). But for the life of me whenever I have a busy workday, I feel bad whenever I can't squeeze in some sort of physical activity even if it's just 15-20 mins walking
I cut out red meat about 15yrs ago due to a pre-colon cancer scare and my BMI is excellent. When I retire, God willing, and I'm still healthy, I plan to have my own activities separate from my wife so we don't drive each other crazy :)
