money is a limiting factor - except for a handful of programs who have significantly more money than everyone else. We're not in that category. And the past season as well as the incident at Michigan State haven't exactly driven contributions sky high at this point.
We need some key starters but we also need to fill out the roster with players who maybe don't cost so much that we can't afford the starter level recruits we need.
If these names turn out to be the starters, I agree with you - think many of us would. But if they're the support players, guy who will come off the bench and work in practice next season, they could turn out to be just fine. In those roles.
I'm waiting to hear what happens with Blackwell and one or two others. I expect I'm going to be disappointed if - when - it turns out that getting a really top drawer recruit at one position of need - say, PG or SG - means we get a partial answer only at another - like a center who's good at some things like rebounding or defense but not so much at others.
But it's like negotiations - people who want to panic while it's just going on - without access to the full information and the bottom lines of both sides of the process. No sense reacting until we have a fuller picture of how it's going to turn out.
