Regarding "Cori's recruiting" ... the 2025-26 UCLA's women's
team was unusual in Close's resume. I didn't give Black, White, Brown,
and Other a thought. Just the exceptionally high quality of their
performances. That Big Ten tournament win vs. Iowa, just a couple
of years removed from Clark, was one for the ages.
Older posters may recall the 1965 men's National Championship
game: all-White Kentucky vs. all-Black Texas Western. That was the
last time (for me) that race had any relevancy.
Some programs always have more White players than Black players,
while others have more Black players than White.
Maybe there are those who want to make something out of it.
We may never see a UCLA women's basketball team like this one.
Some are already referring to it as the best ever.
When I look back on it - which is an immediate necessity, given my
age - the last thing I will think about is the ethnic breakdown of
the roster.
However, the post below and the replies made for some interesting reading.
