Going into the Final 4, UCLA was highly underrated, being an underdog in both games. The dominant win over South Carolina proved the point. But I've been shocked to see heavy anti-UCLA sentiment on the internet by women's basketball fans after UCLA beat South Carolina. The first group of complaints were why was the UCLA women's basketball team getting so much national publicity compared past winners, showing up on all sorts of national TV shows. Then when 5 players were invited to the NBA draft there were many complaints that was too many players from one school. Then when that was justified by having them all picked in the first round, now the complaints are that WNBA general managers were stupid for picking so many UCLA players (as if a GM would make a stupid pick when his job depended on making the right choices). Furthermore there were many predictions that the UCLA players would be cut (which won't happen apparently under the new CBA agreement). Finally, one commentator came out and said what nobody else was saying directly--the UCLA team wasn't black enough to suit a lot of the fans.
