Perhaps Petty could fill that need for a 2 PG lineup.

At times, he did play PG for Texas Tech. From what I've read and seen of him in videos, he's a really good guard. Blackwall is basically an off guard or combo guard. Boyd was their PG at Wisconsin last year.

At Texas Tech as a freshman, Petty played significant minutes as a guard with ball-handling and playmaking duties, though some times he leaned more toward a scoring/shooting (two-guard) role, especially later in the season so I've read. He still contributed assists though and was viewed as having both PG size and the required PG skill set. I believe he will turn out to be a very good pickup for the Bruins with 3 years of eligibility left.
