AI coding is even worse. First pass failure rates are around 50%, and 10-20% of AI code contains security vulnerabilities, making software development skills even more important, except for companies that don't need to deploy functional software.
An unresolvable failure point for all AI models is they can't verify the accuracy or correctness of their results. They fundamentally are unable to perform the very skill every college freshman is taught.
