for the real games. But not cupcakes. The scrimmage(s) and exhibition game(s) will be the chance for the team to iron out things, see who you can rely on and for what. Maybe a cupcake first, then a so so mid major and then a tough mid major.
Then bring in the best teams you can schedule. Do home and
homes. Travel if you have to. The idea is to play the best you can get. A team with 10 losses and a really tough schedule will still get in post season play. They will have been tested and ready for tough games. I believe that team might be better off in conference and post season pay than a team that has a lot of wins and their record has been padded with too many cupcakes.
