(students, alumni, or the general LA area population at large) are interested in supporting UCLA basketball or football - at least in terms of attending games. How does one change that? I think whatever that is, it's a huge uphill climb that goes well beyond coaches, players or even winning.
I live close to South Bend Indiana. On a football weekend you can't find a hotel room. You have people flying in from all over the country. You have people buying condos just for football weekends. Local people buy houses with some sort of Airbnb in mind just for the few home football weekends each year. They can get so much money for those weekends that it's worth it for them.
That certainly isn't the westside of LA.
