247 guys like Huffman (Ucla alum) and Biggins (USC honk but very familiar with SoCal recruiting) don't consider DF much of a recruiter.
How many top RB recruits did Ucla land out of high school? As position coach, DF should have been point. Who knows, maybe the promotion will light a fire and he will be better at "closing" the recruitment....especially if he is earning north of $4 million/year.
But it's a lazy hire focused on saving money, not the long-term success of the football program. I will continue to support the team but I expect a new AD & football coach in 2 years.
