One day, it will probably come to pass that Ucla football is run by a private company under license from Ucla. This would be an outsourcing agreement like the hundreds of these already in place on campus and throughout the organization.

As these "elite" academic institutions (as they refer to themselves) loose their stomachs for the financial resources required to support football, and as the profit potential of doing so keeps growing, a new modality will appear. The attached piece shows an experimental version.

Ucla will eventually be a target for this type of financial support because their chronic, government-style incompetence will bankrupt them again when media rights become less lucrative. Cal's demise is a forewarning of Ucla's future in big money athletics.
