Cal football stadium and now the A's facility in Sacramento have or will soon have artificial turf. These are outdoors and as far as I know they don't have any other tenants, hold any music concerts or events like Monster Truck Rallies or horse competitions. These were the reasons given why Candlestick, way back when, required turf....thankfully the knee degrading artificial turf was replaced after a few years.
