Pete Carroll wasn't a very good coach in his early 40's. Same for many other coaches. He took over a 4-8 rebuild and won 19 games in his first two years and a bowl win. I think he's doing good. He will never be considered great until he wins a Natty. That goes for all coaches. Lets see how well he does now that he has a great defensive coaching staff. He's never had that.
