Yes, perhaps finesse was their only practical option. But, that limited set of choices is the product of incompetence. The Calimony problem has nothing to do with this. Morgan Center went bankrupt and is operating under a debtor in possession agreement with Ucla, so their financial flexibility is limited.
It shouldn't be this way. If Morgan Center was half as good as fans want to think they are, they wouldn't be boxed into a corner when managing the crown jewel of their business. The successful football programs don't have these problems. Ucla does because its administered by incompetents.
