And now you are conceding that 1) it was not NIL that doomed Chip’s recruiting, and 2) that there were in fact major failures in his recruiting.

Now we can move to the bankruptcy part. Do you have any figures to show a sudden drop in UCLA’s recruiting budget vs prior years? Or a news article?

I found an LA Times article showing that Chip spent a massive amount of money on food, including ostrich burgers, wild boar, and organic ketchup. Perhaps UCLA had sufficient funds to recruit? Or perhaps Chip could have allocated that money away from fancy BBQ and put it into recruiting? And this perhaps you are full of feces?

Here is an excerpt from that article:

“ Nutrition is an important ask because it correlates to strength and conditioning,” said a former athletic department official who spoke on condition of anonymity. “But in the end, recruiting is more important. If you don’t have the players, it doesn’t matter.”

It also says UCLA increased spending in areas such as recruiting:

“While the program plowed more money into areas such as support staff, recruiting and game expenses, spending on meals represented 15% of the team expenses and the single biggest increase in non-severance spending.“
