I don’t think I was talking about you. I actually don’t recall you being in these discussions at all. We were definitely talking about Rice and SDSU, but yeah, SMU is the Same thing as ride although swap Houston for Dallas..:they bring nothing to the table. They were so desirable they went to the Acc for FREE. In essence SMU paid the ACC THREE HUNDRED MILLION to compete in their conference. Hahahahha. Yeah a great addition to the PAC. lol.
The additional layer of problem from the new system is how poorly all the Champoonship games are selling (other than SEC), the ACC is pulling a ucla and tarping the upper deck of Panthers stadium, and the Big 10 can’t sell seats. The wcondsry market is like a ucla home game. It doesn’t bode well for current system. Hard to get people to travel so much. Who has the time and $$ to go the a champ game, a round 1 of playoffs, then 2 and maybe 3 and 4. That’s a lot of $$$.
Take me back to the BCS. I’d be fine with Oregon-Texas. Nobody needs to see Boise state or Smu (neither of which won a single game against a team in top 25). The major problem is that the conferences are too big and you don’t have similar schedules.
