Jarmond is the constant in all these missteps.
Jarmond decided he didn't want chip... but he didn't want to pay the buyout so that Ucla could stay in control of the timeline. MASSIVE strategic mistake.
So chip leaves on his timeline, which wasn't great for Ucla.
But then Jarmond creates two more MASSIVE strategic mistakes: 1) he hires the least qualified guy in history to be the head coach, and 2) he doesn't hedge his bet by slapping an interim label on cdf.
Now he's got no wiggle room, after the 2024 season turned into an incredible shiit show. Last in the nation in rushing yards per game? After being top 30 (180 ypg) the year before? Disgusting. No coach this incompetent should retain the job.
