I don’t understand the point you’re making. Are you aware of the settlement that is being finalized (?) and the payment of ~20mm (which increases) to the athletes yearly. That means at least 10mm to be distributed to ladies within the women’s programs. I can’t imagine they are being paid aggregately a 1/4 of that in 90% of Unis currently. Yes, Livvy Dunne and K Clark exist, but they’re unicorns.
This has nothing to do with outside private transactions with sponsors, collectives and others.
In general, the ladies programs all run in the red. Yes, there are a few programs that turn profits consistently, however they are akin to the albino trout. So at the corporate level we run a deficit, however, we are going to pay the ladies on scholarship an additional 10mm (and growing every year) in some fashion. Make it make sense.
Nevertheless, The courts are pretty clear on this, change of party isn’t going to affect these types kf decisions. OTOH, they very well may revise certain provisions in title IX which define sex and gender, but that’s not happening before this settlement is judicially approved. If you were a college would you comply with this decision or wait it out? Seems like an easy call to me.
