I’d happily give up football and focus on improving access to quality education for California kids.

The obsession with big time college sports is an antiquated social club, bragging rights BS that’s gotten out of control.

This is not longer about students, or even amateur athletics, it’s about millionaire (and worse, billionaire) bragging rights, while using the brand and facilities of public institutions.

I love college football and basketball, but what we have now needs to die. It’s not even a fair playing field, it’s just gross marketing and media dollars.

UCLA should go the Ivy League route, forget being a semi-pro league.
