It sounds good, but how do you do it without some collusion?
If some schools try to tie people up with multi-year contracts, won't other schools likely respond by offering one-year deals?
On the flip side, do the schools even want multi-year contracts for most guys? What if a guy turns out to be a bust or gets injured? Now you've tied up multiple years of money on a non-performing asset.
I think people just need to get over the transient nature of the modern college football roster. Think of the program as a pro team sponsored by a school. The old model is dead and isn't coming back.
