He finally climbed the ladder from JC to lower FBS ball to the Big 10 and he was about to get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars. But he lost out on it because of nothing more than bad timing. Regardless of whether he should or should not have been given another year, I think it's a shame and I feel bad for him.

Re: the team, we do not have a lot of proven, healthy bodies at WR. UCLA lost JMS and Loya to the portal, and Rico Flores has not been cleared to play. What's more important than gelling is simply having played a lot of college ball. And Robinson caught passes for over 2000 yards in the FBS. That's usually worth way more than a true freshman or a returning guy who hasn't played much. I subscribe to the idea that the best guys on lesser teams are often better than the worst guys on better teams. Right now we may have to play some guys that no one really knows anything about.

If I'm Nico I want a guy who has been on the field and caught some balls over a guy I gelled with for a few weeks.
