...the 2nd worst coach in the conference.
He made a number of in-game decisions that cost the Bruins points and games last year.
Just off the top of my head...1st game of the season. Ucla D forces a 3 and out. Punt return team on the field. But wait...somebody can't count. Ucla only has 9 guys on the field. WTF???? Does DF call a times out? No. He can't be bothered. Result? Punter keeps the ball, runs for a 1st down, D has to go back out in 100 degree heat, gives up a TD after this backbreaking brainfart.
(To be fair, it's Logan Loya's job, as the PR/farthest guy back, to be able to count to 10, and if he's short, call a TO. Ucla grad, not that hard! I guess that's partly why he's at Minnie Haha this year.)
The decision to not go for it v Minnesota everybody knows.
A 3rd situation was a 4th down, 50-yard FG attempt v Rutgers in the 2nd half. FG unit is on the field with 14 secs left on the play clock. But the FG is fidgeting and futzing and wasting time. Does DF see that Ucla is in danger of not getting hte play off? No. He lets the refs throw a flag instead. That turns the 50-yd FD for 150 lb PK into a 55-yd effort for a super small dude. Not surprisingly, he muscles up, and shanks the kick. Criminal. Luckily, Ucla dodged a bullet and held on to win that game. But DF turned a comfortable win into a nail biter.
Then there was the halftime debacle v sc. No reprecussions. Ucla kicks off from its own 5 yard line. LOL. ridic.
How many times will shiit like that happen this year?
