I don't see the team waiting until January to announce hire, and even if they did, that buyout amount combined with Foster's golden parachute is a lot of money for a program that neither has a lot, nor is known to spend much in any regard.

As for salvaging recruiting, whoever we hire needs to be a good recruiter, and regardless of how good a recruiter they are, whoever it is will likely be forced to rely heavily on the portal in year one
