Logistically, I'm not sure how much of an option it is. An example is you don't see UNLV and the Raiders play on the same weekend at Allegiant (if they do it's rare, but I don't remember it) because of things like they have to change the field out, broadcasting trucks come in and out for CFB and NFL that change out, among other things. It does take time. Also, at Allegiant, you have four locker rooms. Raiders, UNLV, Visitors, and Raiderettes. I'd guess SoFi, there's Chargers, Rams, Visitors, possibly multiple Cheerleader rooms. So there'd be a bit going into getting Ucla their own if that is an option.
As far as travel, I would guess just about every B10 team would prefer SoFi. LAX and the location of SoFi would be easy and probably cheaper.
So it's not to say SoFi couldn't be a home field, I just don't know if it is a real option. That's just based on what I've seen here.
I honestly am wondering if Ucla and SoFi might actually be looking at playing A game at SoFi as a neutral site type thing first. Ucla/SEC team or something to that extent. That would make sense to me and I'd see why the Rose Bowl would be mad. I could see how that would drum up interest for both parties.
And final thought, when it comes to stadiums, one thing I learned here is whatever I though I knes about politics, I didn't know sqwat. There is so much stuff that happens in the political landscape, it blows your mind. I would be surprised if DG wasn't involved in conversations when SoFi was being planned out. Everyone is involved to some point.
