Yeah, that lease duration is brutal. What a stupid thing to do. I still think you could turn Drake into a 35-40K football stadium. How about Carson? It's only 22 miles from Westwood. Nice cozy stadium. Just a thought. I just don't think SoFi would work. There would be no need to sell seats in the 400-500 levels. We would have no identity there. BMO stadium is nice but of course we wouldn't want to play on/near the SUC campus.
What a mess. Too bad a stadium like the one in Berkeley couldn't have been built on campus 80 years ago when no one was living there. What an oversight!
