I attended the UCLA bowl game vs Boise State at So-Fi Stadium in December 2023 and immediately thought: I wish we played our home games there. So-Fi is gorgeous, modern, sleek, comfortable and has excellent lines of sight. The Rose Bowl may look nice from the Goodyear blimp but is in fact an outdated dump. The lines of sight are generally horrible as the seating slopes low and far from the playing field. The rows are so narrow that, even though we're both only 5'8", my wife and I have to sit with our legs at an angle because otherwise our knees achingly press against the seats in front of us. And you can't walk past anyone in the row without them having to stand up and contort themselves to clear space for you. They'd have to demolish the entire concrete shell to fix these issues. It was build over 100 years ago when people were shorter. The Rose Bowl eating facilities are largely reminiscent of a county fair.

By the way, the current lease with the Rose Bowl was signed in 2010, six years before the Rams moved back to LA and construction started on So-Fi Stadium. So Dan Guerrero could not have known in 2010 that So-FI would ever exist. Still, I remember questioning at the time why UCLA signed such a long lease.

My first choice would be to convert Drake into a facility that seats 35,000 (matching the capacity of Northwestern's new stadium opening next season). Mantis expressed some good ideas about a multi-purpose on-campus facility a while back.
