For one thing, George Washington had a house and his body is buried there. People also don't claim that GW did supernatural things or rise from the dead. He was just a man who lived and died.
Washington has descendants who are known, and some are still alive to this day. Portraits have been made of him, and many, including foreign leaders, have written about meeting him.
To say that GW's existence is based on faith is complete nonsense. It's based on hearsay, but most of history is. How do you know your dad is your real dad? Because your mother told you so, as well as probable corroborating evidence (others also told you so, physical resemblance, baby pictures, etc.)
How do you know we landed on the moon? Plenty of evidence that is not based on faith.
If you want to have faith, that's fine. But don't conflate your beliefs with things for which there is clear historical evidence.
