Nico was sacked 27 times last season. Now he needs to overcome the instinctual sense of self-preservation and related behavior that is the legacy of his 2025 experience. I don't think that could be accomplished in practice. It'll take a few games played against real opponents before we'll have a better sense of his ability to adapt to a functioning O-Line.
I, too, have doubts about his reads. And apparent weakness at the TE position may reduce his options. Purdue recorded 2 sacks against Wake Forest, both from an edge rusher. And that was against a fairly formidable Wake Forest O-Line. So it'll be interesting to see what happens this Saturday evening.
