Ukraine has about 6 months of supplies. Europe is planning on an $800 billion package for Ukraine.
To get an idea of how big that is, the package blocked by Mike Johnson was $60 billion.
Part of the problem of simply giving Ukraine money to buy weapons is that there are long queues for specific weapons that are years long. The US is not giving Ukraine any priority for those weapons.
Ukraine to get around this has been making deals to build factories on Ukraine's land with foreign countries. When this war is over, Ukraine will be a major arms supplier.
The former general in charge of European security (I forget which group he was under) said that the US is afraid of facing a world with a weakened Russia which is why they keep slow-walking F-16s. There could be many more pilots being trained and many more fighters available if the US wanted it to be so.
Russia looks to be losing steam. After a year of Russia grinding out territory toward Pokrovsk to collapse the Ukraine line, Ukraine has been able to gain territory in 5 km chunks. They are also doing the same in Kursk.
I wouldn't pay too much attention to any of the peace talks going on right now. Neither side wants to stop. None of the offered plans are close to what either side wants. It's all posturing for outside leaders to look like they are trying.
It is so frustrating to see that once Biden gave permission to attack deep in Russian territory right after the election, Ukraine has destroyed much of Russia's smart bomb arsenal. That was the only way they were taking territory. Now Russian mil bloggers and soldiers are begging for the bombs because they are just being run into waves of cluster artillery and drones. In Pokrovsk, Ukrainians have air superiority hitting anything that moves with drones.
As much as it is a detriment to citizens, in this modern age, you can't fight a war without cluster munitions or mines, unless you have absolutely overwhelming firepower.
