I would contend that this is the fault of organizations

on the left, the Democratic Party in particular, for not bringing that information, presenting that point of view and analysis to the messes. It's not a common person's job to be well-informed about politics and economy, to do an in-depth analysis of the world they live in. Most people don't have the time, the inclination, or the motivation for that.

The duty to inform and make a compelling argument for a particular understanding of the world falls on the political entities who want the society to move in a specific direction. This is the thing that the right unsxerstands instinctively and has mastered over the decades, and the left is having a hard time even barely grasping.

One does not need to be terribly intelligent to know that they are being played or what the larger game is. All one needs is to maintain a particular attitude and a healthy sesne of suspicion towards the people who are in position of power. That's the ultimate failure, IMO.
