The rule of law in our country is over.
I agree with the theory you presented: Trump will initiate an investigation into Bill Clinton, which will cause the files to be sealed, which will enable Trump to protect himself. It will probably work, in a legal sense.
But public opinion is turning, and this ploy will cause even more people to turn against Trump. By the time the mid-terms take place in 2026, Trump will be facing a public that hates him for several reasons: the Epstein relationship, for a terrible economy featuring high inflation and rising unemployment, for taking away affordable health insurance for thousands of families, for hosting a lavish party while the nation suffered through a government shutdown, and more.
(I didn't even mention masked government agents sweeping people off the street and sending them to hell-hole prisons in far-off countries.... for some reason that offense hasn't resonated with the American public. Shame on us... )
Trump won't be on the ballot in 2026, but the people who could impeach him will be. And that's why there won't be a fair election in 2026.
Trump sees what's coming, and he's already re-working our nation's armed forces to bend them to his will.
As I see it, there are only two potential paths that could save our country:
1. Enough Republican congressmen and senators come to their senses and remove Trump from the White House (fat chance, based on recent history!)
2. Trump suffers a major medical event - a stroke, a heart attack, etc. - and cannot continue in office. He doesn't even have to die, just become incapacitated. I doubt that JD Vance could continue Trump's policies - he's smarter than Trump, but lacks Trump's shamelessness which enables him to lie so effectively.
We are living in interesting times....
