That makes a big big difference. Trump creates a cult like following with his ability to bend reality to his will among his followers. Vance does not have that capability. He comes across as an inauthentic wannabe, which is deadly in politics. If it is Vance versus a generic Democrat in 2028, *and it's a fair and free election*, Vance loses by a lot. (The "if" in that statement is doing a lot of heavy lifting, BTW.)
The only person on the horizon I fear is Nick Fuentes as a Republican nominee in a couple of cycles. AOC vs Fuentes would be my prediction, and boy, will that be a consequential one.
That is, again, *if* we ever have free and fair elections going forward.
