Russian pov, all Putin has to do is to pick up the phone and Trump comes right back to being his faithful servant again.
The problem is Trump has the attention span of a gnat on issues that don't relate to him so he drifts away from his assignment easily. That being said, there's no world leader that snaps to attention as readily as Trump does as soon as he (= Putin) makes that call.
