It's really early, but my initial thoughts are....

1. A lot of people will die, mostly Iranians.

2. It appears that the US not planning to put any boots on the ground. That's good, at least for the US... but what's going to happen next? When the bombing stops, will the Iranians be able to create a new government? Will they spill a lot blood on the way to re-building their country? Will other countries step in to assist (perhaps the NATO powers, or perhaps Russia, China or even India?).

3. Iran has a long history of practicing "asymmetrical warfare." In other words, hitting soft targets such as embassies, hotels, or popular hangouts for Americans. It's even conceivable they could employ terrorist tactics on American soil. Is the Trump Administration ready for that?

4. Is there any chance that the USA will ever be respected for being the good guys once again? In the decades after WWII we were indeed the undisputed good guys, despite our many flaws. But now... any pretense to decency, morality and honesty are all gone...

Any thoughts?

I will be away for the next few hours and unable to respond, but I'd like to hear from others....
