If someone wants to correct me, I'm listening, but . . .

I don't think there has been any time in history that unconditional surrender has been achieved without either boots on the ground or a catastrophic attack on civilian populations.

So either Trump gives up on unconditional surrender, or he sends in ground forces to turn Iran into a slaughterhouse for both sides, or he finds something in the American arsenal that can cause mass civilian casualties.
