I went up into the stacks on an upper floor, selected a book, and went back down to the front desk. I was surprised that no one was in line. I presented the book to check it out.
The student clerk behind the desk was bewildered. "You want to check this out?" He had to call a supervisor to learn how to check out a physical book.
I felt like a dinosaur.
