Once we tore up the JCOP and started the war, all options were terrible. Continuing and escalating the war were even worse options.
Could someone else have negotiated a better deal? Almost certainly. But for Trump this is the best we could hope for.
That doesn't mean he deserves credit for doing it. He stumbled into this.
This is how Trump solves problems. He tries to be a bully and intimidate the other side. If that doesn't work, he buys them off. Think Stormy Daniels.
I am not sure if doing this without Israel was a good or bad idea. I suspect involving Israel would have made a deal almost impossible. OTOH, without Israel, the chances of Bibi blowing the whole thing up are REALLY high.
