The U.S. Treasury Department has authorized the production, delivery and sale of Iranian oil for 60 days.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the authorization comes after “productive talks” between Tehran and Washington in Switzerland.
The authorization allows the import of Iranian oil and refined products into the U.S.

The U.S. on Monday authorized Iranian oil sales through August after “productive talks” between Tehran and Washington in Switzerland over the weekend, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said.
“As part of the framework, Treasury has issued a temporary 60-day general license authorizing the production, delivery, and sale of Iranian oil,” Bessent said in a post on X.
The authorization allows the import of Iranian oil and refined products into the U.S. Payment can be made to Tehran in dollars. The license expires Aug. 21, unless it’s renewed.
