They may disapprove of Trump, but all they are looking for is an excuse not to vote for the Democrat. And the Demos always give them one (even if they aren't very reasonable excuses).
Examples: A woman, a minority, association with California woke liberals, association with "progressive" left, wrong sexual preference, wrong religion, etc. But these categories probably eliminate 80% of their leading 2028 presidential candidates.
Obama won before MAGA took over and Biden won because he wasn't one of the above. Clinton and Harris lost because they were. And if one of them doesn't get the nomination, expect their butt hurt supporters to sit out the election like Bernie's did in 2016.
The path to victory in 2028 is to nominate someone like Beshear and then make the VP any of the other categories.
