rooting for ... even if they turn out to be the most coddled team who absolutely didn't need to be coddled at all. They can win the whole damn thing and I'll still be rooting against them.

They can say "we want it back" or "this one's ours" or "we came to collect our cup", whatever, instead. It's already home. That's why it's called a *world* cup.
