A March 2026 contractor estimate put the overall project at $600 million. Of that, $307 million was identified as taxpayer-funded: $155 million from the Secret Service, $149 million from the White House Military Office, and $3 million from the Executive Residence. About $293 million was expected from private sources.

That means roughly 51% of the $600 million project was projected to come from taxpayers, versus 49% private funding.
