Right now, it is not clear how AI can be effectively monetized at its current capitalization levels.
The world envisioned just six months ago—focused heavily on data centers, massive AI investment, and AI replacing large numbers of jobs—has changed dramatically. The question is no longer simply how quickly AI will transform the economy, but whether the current business model and the infrastructure required to sustain it are actually feasible.
There is another major uncertainty: Chinese AI models are reportedly operating at roughly one-third the cost of comparable U.S. models and are seeing some of the largest increases in overall usage. That means it is not even clear that the ultimate winner of the AI race will be a U.S. company—or even that the technology dominating global AI usage will be under U.S. control.
