current usage, it is at best a catchall phrase that collects all the cultural positions taken by the progressive base that the right finds offensive, like dignity of trans people, respecting people's wishes in terms of how they want to be referred to, being against racism, being against the police killing innocent people willy nilly, being against ethnostates mass killing civilians in a genocidal manner, you know all that stuff that deeply offends the right at an emotional level.
In more practical terms, it is about the "wrong kind of people" having the ability to react to the things that the "right kind of people" think they should be able to get away with.
What you're asking underscores the fundamental problem that this Woke 1 discussion skips over: defining what it is that's supposed to have been "crazy" in the first place.
I think AOC f*cked up the response in her attempt to appease the mainstream media as she prepares to run for some higher office, likely an upcoming presidential run. I still like her, but she should have thought through where she stands and not have instinctively yielded the moral high ground to corporate media lackeys.
