Well cgpt didn’t say that the ones that have been found to be engaging in activities when not asked were programmed to do that. One the other hand they only exist to the extent they are programmed (until AI systems start spawning ), so I guess any activity is at the least an unintended consequence of their programming. So, in that sense, for sure they were programmed to be active w/o instructions.
