Both political parties are beholden to some special interests, be they business, labor or farmers.
Give the backdrop of a $40 trillion national debt and the depletion of the Social Security and Medicare trust funds sometime in the early-mid 2030's, there are some elephants in the room.
Politicians are elected by the people and the people want more for less. I don't know how politicians can deliver what the people want without kicking the can (increasing the national debt) down the road to become an even bigger burden for future generations?
