Or it could simply mean that people are put in a perpetual state of stress/anxiety.

We have the best economy in decades.

On average, we used to change parties every 8 years. Now we are changing it every 4 years regardless of what a President does.

I'm not arguing on the merits of the following policy but what most people pragmatically received from these Presidents.

Obama provides affordable healthcare and gets rid of pre-existing conditions. He's very unpopular after 8 years.

Trump prints out checks with his name on them. He temporarily cuts taxes for everyone. He's very unpopular after 4 years.

Biden created for the first time in decades salary increases for the poor/middle class and a large number of blue-collar jobs in a great economy and he is very unpopular. The moment Biden is off the ticket, his popularity rises.

Trump is hated after his first term but now is the most popular he has ever been.

Even billionaires in the US seem absolutely miserable.
