My recollection is that he was on the show with Patt Morrison and a latino reporter iof some note. Hewitt was in my mind a principled, responsible Republican very much in the mold of George Will. But he didn't stay that way. Also, a persistent apologist for Richard Nixon. So he had practice lying to shield a miscreant from accountability.

I also used to listen to Dennis Prager as a call-in psychologist with no political axe to grind on KABC-AM.

Seems like the both went off the rails at the same time--though, I would expect, making a ton of money. The conservative talk radio movement was always about money and grifting the gullible.

I attended the 2004 DNC. Hewitt's media booth was on the main concourse immediately opposite the section with the California delegation. I saw him everyday.
