THe interesting thing is all 5 judges are Democrats.

I haven't seen an explanation for why they did it. I did see a guy a few days ago predicting this would happen, he said it's quite common for large bonds to get reduced, not because they think the person is innocent, but at a certain point it simply becomes more efficient to have a lower bond because it reduces the chances for the person owing the money to claim I can't possibly pay that. Trump is going to lie no matter what, but clearly it's much easier to believe he couldn't afford the original bond than it is he can't afford 175 million.

So Trump will have to put up the bond. The guy I saw predict this didn't predict the 10 day delay part, that part surprises me if he was truly raising money to pay the bond surely he should already be able to put up the 175 million so why does he get 10 days?

But yes the original judgement is still in place, they just lowered the bond.

Personally while him having to fire sale properties would have been great, I think him having to come up with the cash is a good outcome too. The monitor is still in place.

And Trump himself told us yesterday that he's getting money from foreign entities, he was directly asked if he would take foreign money and he said something like I believe it's legal to do so, which is trump for yes I already am.
