NY Times article today says most of the "missing" votes were in big blue states not red states so this GOP notion that 2024 proves 2020 was rigged is nonsense of course. But it also shows the problem Harris had, most of her missing votes were white men, hispanic men and black men who either voted for Trump or didn't show up.

The article says don't assume if they HAD voted, they would have voted for her. The polling suggests it had much to do with the Dems not having voted her in with an open primary but as discussed before, that was BIden's fault, he pulled out way too late, and then immediately endorsed Harris after promising Pelosi he wouldn't so they could have their primary.

So between her not being a man, and not having been in an open primary it was 2 strikes against her before she saw a pitch.

People keep saying Dems shielded Biden etc but the more you read about Pelosi the more obvious it is Dem leadership was pushing Biden, for months, to pull out, they were not "protecting" him they were trying to get him to bow out with dignity and respect. When that didn't work, they let the debate expose him and then pushed him more until he finally relented.

Again one recent article said right after the debate Pelosi went to Biden with internal polling that said Trump might get 400 electoral votes, and he still initially refused to drop out. I thought overall he did a good job, with some obvious things I disagreed with, but he definitely didn't do the party or the country a favor by staying in the race too long. Any chance the Dems had at winning was gone by the time he pulled out IMO.
