...fans. As fans, it was "pure", as in entertaining on many levels, like following recruiting for a small example. For the players, I think, not so much. They got no part in the many millions, even billions, being generated, excluded for the sake of "purity". I doubt, for example, that Eric Dailey is mourning right now the loss of purity.
We'll have to see how it settles out. I agree it's not likely to be quite as nice for us fans to follow as it once was. It's necessary though, I think, for all rightness or fairness. And, I do think it's destined to stabilize a lot, even if we'll never get back to being able to count on following the progress of our favorite players for 4 years on our favored team.
